How do I know if my center spring is worn?

Post by Incomel »

Well, I am starting to have problems again with low end power. This stupid thing was running fine after I put the new belt on, drove it around for 3-4 days (great low end and top end power) and now I am losing my low end power. I just bought a new belt so it can't be that. The whole belt/pulley system was really hot when i got home. A friend told me to put belt dressing on my new belt. Would that work? The new belt does look kinda of glazed.

One guy on another thread said it could be a center spring problem if you have it revs real high and then slowly kicks in and then you have fine top speed. How do I check to see if my center spring is no good. Thanks for all your help guys. I keep thinking I got this thing working and then another problem. Will it ever end?

Can anyone help me out on this one? What about some sort of belt dressing to make the belt stick better? Would that work?

Check your clutch pads. I'm betting they're worn out and need replaced. If not, disassemble the clutch and grease the pivots.
