92-02 elite front shocks fit on an 87 aero.?

Trying to locate some information on front shock upgrades for an 87 aero. I notice the 92 up elite has the same style from suspension but i am unclear if those front shocks are interchangeable?
Anybody out there got a sample they could give me dimensions off of?
