spree help
my daughter has a 1986 spree, she doesnt need more top end speed, just more power for the hills and a faster launch. because its not variated is there anything on the clutch that can be changed? what is the next size up on the torque spring? thanks for your help. i have considered a bbk, but want to keep the oil injection system.
Re: spree help
How slow is the launch? Granted the stock motor is not "fast" (it is in fact quite the opposite in just about every way) I don't remember it being THAT bad of a launch or that terrible on the hills. On a steep incline, I mean steep, steep, my little Spree would could muster up 15 or so. 20 or so on average/small size hills. Are these the speeds you are achieving?
I can't speak to the clutch question as I never bothered messing with it (I'm sure there are others on the board who are much better equipped to answer that question), but I know new rings and a good tune really helped my little Spree's acceleration. This may be a silly question, but have you checked the condition of the cylinder?
*Sorry if my reply wasn't helpful, but to be honest the Spree's little engine is barely "street-able" in the best stock condition. And I'm not sure how fast you want/need it to accelerate.
