1986 Honda 50 spree will not run more than a few seconds. I replaced carb, piston, rings and oil pump. I shoot a small shot of starting fluid in air intake and it starts, blue smoke tells me it is getting oil but it dies after a few seconds. I looked at the reed valve and it looked good. seems like it is not drawing fuel from the carb.

Don't use starting fluid!!!!!!!! It will make it worse. What you need to use is 2 stroke mix to prime with. And if you just replaced the top end you need to mix some 2 stroke oil in the fuel tank. You should start at the tank and look at the scree with a flashlight and see if its clogged. Then check the fuel line and vacuum lines make sure the vacuum line is on the intake properly. Then pull the fuel line from the carb and crank the motor to see if fuel flows. Then put the fuel line back on the carb and open the float bowl drain screw and see what comes out when you crank it. The carb may gummed up so if you have fuel flow to the carb and still nothing the carb should come off and be cleaned. The carb should really be cleaned if you haven't had it off yet anyway.
