I have read recently that swapping out the stock drive belt for a AX-23 belt will give me about 5 more mph, is this true? Would any of you advise for or against it? I'm new to scooters and I don't want to do damage for a few mph more.

The ax23 works for 5more mph, but graphite is right with out a bbk take off will be really crappy. If you have the mlm pipe and really great compression with a 84/85 head and 86/87 piston with a ported cylinder and drive on flat ground it might be okay. Get a bbk ;-) and then the pulley mod might be easier. You need to be so very careful when installing the ax23 belt. If not done correctly you will shred the splines on your crankshaft. The belt is tight as heck when new.
