production kick * scoot

I think with all this scoot info we should get together and build a production scoot that needs nothing in the way of performance. Extra bling would cost a little more. Anyone with me. It would be nice to buy a 50cc scoot and do wheelies and burn outs, and keep up with traffic. I think we could build a bad * scoot. Comments?

I think the environmental pollution control regs would get in the way. But I still think we should have it and build it, big time. It would be cool to be able to buy an af18 or af16 crate motor. Like the way you buy a crate motor for car or truck. How coom would it be to just order a motor with the right carb, intake vari, gears already put together. Or at the very least be able to order a full af18 or zx motor brand new :-)

I tried to do that before and there was zero realistic interest unfortunately. I have enough parts to make 6 engines right now. Top to bottom.

Downfall of what we do is the amount of time and money that goes into a good build not to many are willing to pay for. Some but not many.

And that's being very modest. I was figuring closer to $2000 with all new parts from honda.

I actually purchased a Brand New af16 case last year, ordered the two halves, magneto, stator, pulley shaft, gear shaft, gears, gear cover, bushings, seals, and all the bolts needed to put that together. Totall on the receipt is 671.86$

If the scooter comes off the floor rippin it up then that takes most of the fun away. Then our scoot scene will get infultrated by the all the swagf**s. Imo building the scoot is all the fun, plus riding a hike you built instead of somone else is way more rewarding.

Hi Dakine. that seems like a good price for a new motor. Did that include the crankshaft? I would be in for new complete short block at that price.

I agree its more fun to build your own scooter. If they were so easy to get all ripped they would end up being all on the radar an be illegal. I like the fact that my dio spree is a rare beast. And if the fast scoots were easy to get then guys that feed our addictions like graphite 9 would be out of business. We don't want that. ;-)

No that didnt include A CrankShaft. A brand New OEM Sa50 CrankShaft is around 160-180(I Think) with my discount. Unless your dead serious about getting a complete OEM Af16e Motor. I would highly consider Getting a malossi crank instead of the Sa50 Stock Crankshaft, since the pricing is only about a 40$ Difference.

That is unless you know some secrets about the stock Sa50 crankshaft to haha.

Also if your thinking about purchasing a New Block from Honda. In my Opinion it should be for you to always and for ever KEEP and not Sell. You'll probably get half or not even half of what you spent getting all the parts brand new from honda.

Hi Dakine. no crankshaft that's another $200. Malossi is the way to go.
yes there are a few things you can do to the stock crank. Turn it into a stroker. But the cost outweighs the rewards.
there are many secrets in this forum no one shares. Someone started a thread about sharing performance secrets to your scoot and it went nowhere. For me I post what I can. I don't know a whole lot. Just the basics.
But I do like this form they're good people here. :thumbwink:
