Engine won't start i just mildly ported the intake and put on a 50mm bore kit it wont start only back fire and sputter alittle i checked carb put on a new cdi a new v8 pipe and checked stator it has fresh spark plug with bright blue spark but still won't start when it back fires smoke seems to come out the cylinder head compression is high so I'm thinking it's the gaskets am i correct or is there something I'm missing ?

I'm almost ready to give up its really depressing i don't know what else to do i cleaned everything almost 20 times

Also do a leak down test, case pressure test 6 pounds. any more than 6 pounds and you'll blow the seals out. check for leaks with soapy water.
is your porting ok?

hello sir,aukinakaeo,i have a sym dd50 too i have a honda elite 2001 af16 engine..i want to put it on my sym dd50 body is that easy fit same size on the bolt.thank you...

And chamisataza I'm really not too sure i got mines already with the engine in it but I'm pretty sure it's a bolt on procedure

I checked compression comes in between 8 to 9 psi spark plug does get wet , when i put my carb back on i put all the tubes back but theres this little nipple thingy on the front of the intake mani that looks like a tube belongs there not too sure what to do with that. And i did put the piston in with the arrow faceing the exhaust port ..... when i try to start it it backfires and fire shoots out the exhaust

My reeds are fine porting looks fine there is compression fuel mixture and spark ..... stumped don't know what else to do
