I bought a 85 gyro parts bike. I needed a ignition switch, so I thought I could sell off the rest of the bike off in pieces.
Easier said than done. Put some pieces on ebay, no interest. I realize gyros are sort of rare, so not alot of people are out there looking for parts. I guess I will have alot of spare parts lying around.
There's no market for used gyro parts

Re: There's no market for used gyro parts
You cannot expect Gyro owners to all need parts the week you put up the ad.
A rare scoot has rare parts, and it may take a while for the word to get out that you have those parts.
Last year I needed a lot of Gyro parts, this year both Gyro's don't need anything.
Who knows how many Gyro's I will be fixing next year ?
You could always sell the leftovers to Bill the gyro guy.

You are right!!! I been listing the pieces for the last month on ebay and put an ad up in the parts section of the forum.
Didn't sell anything yet. I just need to have some patience. The warm weather didn't even hit yet.

I think the moral is don't part them out.
They are rare little gems that deserve to live.

I do agree with you. I felt bad about doing it. I have 2 gyros , an 85 and 86. The 86 is complete.
The 85 was missing some parts. I bought another 85 for parts. It was too far gone for me to restore.
The tires were dry rotted. missing all the good plastics, airbox, seat shot. bad engine, cables seized,
etc, etc. It was an organ donor.
