slow take off

my 85 spree goes about 31 on flat ground after warmed up but i have a slow take off. it goes quite slow till it gets going about 15 mph then goes fast but cant figure out how to make the take off faster.

Clean the carbourator, and de-carbonize the muffler. Check your belt for wear, to see if it needs relacement.
Instructions for all those are in the Tech Doc's section

i just went thogh this with an 87 elite. its the rings. dont wait till they go or youl be gettin piston and possibly sylender too.

I solved this on mine by cleaning and adjusting the carb and plugging a hole some one had drilled in my air cleaner. Make sure the air cleaner lid is tight and not leaking.

i am goin to clean the carb this weekend but i have herd about drilling holes in the air clean does it really help and how many do i have to drill. how much do the rings cost.

Pull the cylinder off (but only if you have a new head gasket) and see if the exhaust port in the cylinder is plugged with carbon.

well that how my spree ran at first, then i changed the rings and it ran great at 45
