Running Turbo Blue or similar on mhr bore

Post by Wingnutz »

Hello i have been trying unsuccessfully to find some information pertaining to running a mixture of turbo blue 110 octane in my mhr i recently got running. Was planning on doing a 50/50 mixture of 110 and 93 to be on the safe side since the compression on the mhr is higher than the stock bore. Not sure if the turbo blue is a good or bad fuel to run in these small engines so thought maybe someone would have some insight into whether or not this is something i can or should do. My other option i was thinking about was running this fuel called rec 90. supposedly it is a 90 octane gas that has no ethanol in it which is supposed to be easier on small engines. Thanks in advance for any help!

Greetings:

My 170-PSI MHR was fed a diet of a 50/50 mixture of Pump Premium unleaded and 100 Low-Lead AvGas from Deepinnaharta County Airport. I premixed Motul 800 Synthetic at 32:1. The bore was remarkably well-preserved on disassembly, as in not a scratch. I dunno what Turbo Blue 110 is, but it should be plenty of octane for yours as long as tuning is correct.

From what I read the turbo blue 110 is a leaded gasoline. Was just trying to get a confirmation that it's fine to run leaded gas in my af16. Also when running higher octane will I want to raise or lower jet sizes?

Greetings:

Fuel is fuel. Jets can stay the same if they were right to start. You can get away with smaller jets for better performance with less risk of detonation at higher temps. However, at some temp even 110 will pre-ignite. A safety cushion is welcome on a daily rider.
