soft seizing??

What is soft seizing? I'm not sure about what it is but hear people mention it.

It is when your cylinder locks up due to overheating. Usually you can soft seize a cylinder three times but after the third time it is usually toast. And I'm talking burnt toast.
We have all done it. Well at least I did when I did my very first install of a BBK. I learned very fast where the honey spot was.
Also if you fully seize the cylinder it will not come unstuck. If you soft seize the cylinder it will come unstuck after the engine cools down for a bit.

Hhhmmmmmmmmm.........
Wonder if I've been doing that haha. I've been having trouble on long high speed runns, where the scoot sputters and dies out, sometimes a Lil bit sometimes it'll die for a couple mins. But it'll still crank.

If your doing long runs make sure to get a temp gauge. It is well worth the money and its also piece of mind. I like to run my stuff around 350-375.
You can also hear the rpm's of the engine. Try to listen for the honey spot. I know it sounds a little crazy but it works for me.

Avoid cheap bore kits, use malossi or polini bore kits!

Uhh I hate to break it to you but I have seen plenty of malossi and polini kits burnt up when I had my scooter shop. If you research the threads you will see quality kits are not exempt from over heating (soft seizing). I have seen Taiawan big bore kits last for years on daily driver scooters in the Vegas heat. Its all how you break them in.

+2 and add proper tuning of the carb after break in there.

Any cylinder can overheat. I don't any reason why a properly tuned Taiwanese bore kit wouldn't last as long as anything else. Yeah, I guess higher quality rings and whatnot might last longer, but If it is seizing due to running lean or over heating, it's going to happen with anything regardless of COO.
Again , another worthless reply that adds nothing to the topic from that superfast1234 guy.
