NCY Low-Down Shock on spree ?

Post by CalvinB »

It's all in the title, has anyone put an NCY Lowdown shock for a Ruckus onto a Spree? The shock is 235 in length and has a left offset.

My factory shock is scary and has no dampening, which is great for keeping the tire on the ground in a corner  and I would like to lower the front end to match

Thanks

I don't need performance dampening, I just want it not to no try to buck me when I hit a pebble. With my new carb, the stock spring is awful close to the intake, as is. hmmm

Well, change of plans. I am a bicycle mechanic as my day job and I have a bunch of old parts that I have collected, so I am going to take an old Fox Racing Shocks air shock that I have had lying around and make it work. It has the right eye to eye that I was looking for (if I add a bracket) to lower the rear end where I want it. It will also offer custom spring rates and dampening. Also they are made to put up with the rear suspension having a huge amount of leverage on the shock, so if I pump it up to max. pressure it should be able to handle about 460 pounds GVW.

Nothing like mounting a $450 shock on a vehicle it was never intended for.
