Is there no drain plug for tranny oil, just the fill plug?
If so do I drain it to replace it by just laying it down?
Thanks,

What I did, was use a needle attachment on my tranny fluid bottle, and remove the drain plug. I connected the bottle to the overflow drain tube on the tranny, and forced the fluid in, it flushed out all the nasties! that oil was really bad, and I'm glad I changed it!

I think the issue is that there is a ton of space below the hole. The only way to get ALL of the fluid out is cracking open the transmission (which I recently did). When I refilled it, it took about 90cc as I recall. I didn't have gear oil on hand, so I used regular 4 stroke oil, which I'll probably have to replace at some point. I think that gear oil is much more suitable. The regular oil seems like it would get whipped up fairly quickly.

I thougth I saw in the manual that 10w40 was OK to put in...when I drained mine it was a creamy color, which usually means water/moisture...although mine had not been run for quite a while when I found it...that could explain. Question...is 10w40 OK to put in or is there something better recommended.
