Ok first here's my set up
Honda elite s 1996
Af16e
Polini Corsa
Stage 6 intake
28 OKO carb
Rrgs g dash pipe
7.2.1 gears
15% contra spring
4000 Polini shoe spring
36 g weights
So I recently changed gears from 8.4.1 to 7.2.1 when I had my 8.4.1 my bike used to go about 68 top speed now I changed my gears my bike is much slower. I tried adjusting weights and everything but not to much of a change my bike stuck at 58. Do I need to change my spring do I go more heavy or more light on my weights ?

I would mark your pulley and keep going lighter on weights. you will know when you have gone too low when your just reving out or the mark doesnt all disappear. it means your belt is not riding to the top of your pulley. You need to tune your bike to your pipe and with lower gears you need to rev more in the biginning to get yourself in the powerband of your pipe. so take off wont be so bad. your initial take off wont be as good as your previous gears . Hope that makes sense

Greetings:
Between 8.44s and 7.2s there are 7.58s, 7.97s, and possibly more choices. There's little reason to think that a Corsa needs 7.2. If the variator doesn't max out, a lot of the power is lost to slippage. It is also possible that 68, a respectable top speed, is all it's got, regardless of the gears you install. Ultimately speed depends on Power. Still I would try 7.97s, keep tuning, and find a tailwind.
