Honda Spree and Elite 50 Forums

Hey everyone!
In search of the BEST cleaner to clean several spree engines (Outside case of course) I have used several different cleaners, but that grim and dirt still comes off hard! Any advice or tips on how to clean a engine up easily? Any help is much appreciated, thank you!

Mean green or engine degreaser and a hose. Its ok to get the outer case wet.
Plug up any holes or tape them off and give it a good soak.

Thank You! I'll haft to give that a try, never heard of "Mean Green" before. Hoping this will walk the dirt right off!

Search for a product called S-100. I have never found any other product that even came close. Be SURE to rinse as directions explain.

Canned engine degreaser and a hose, but be very careful to cap off carb... easy to fill engine with water doing this.

Any aerosol or spray on degreaser, rinsed off according to the instructions followed by a darn good wire brushing seems to do the trick

I like brake cleaner and starting fluid. Very powerful. It liquifies the sludge and blasts it away then evaporates in minutes. Orielys brand seems to have a powerful spray. Wire or tooth brush for heavy areas and more spray. Put several layers of cardboard under it first to catch the drippings. Do it outside!

Dang thats like 5 bucks a can here plus tax and all that for like maybe 30 secounds of blast. Have you thought about just using rubbing alcohol? Its very simular in how it makes greese dry and come off easily.

Im telling you, best bang for ur buck, dolla tree home boy, dolla tree...

simple green or LA totally awsome a bucket and a couple tooth brushes.

if you want cleaner than that then tear it all down and bead blast it then polish it with a fine wire wheel.

Thanks everyone for the help! I'm sure now I should have plenty of options on trying the best spree engine case cleaner! I've got like a dozen engines that are just covered in filth and grime, this outta be fun.... Again thanks for the help everyone! Much appreciated!
