Killswitch, starter button, ignition cylinder all bad

Post by Piechey »

Good Afternoon guys,

Last night I installed the 48mm BBK from Taz (runnning beautifully finally :woot: ) and tonight I will be trying to wrap up all the other little issues. My main concern now is installing switches temporaily. I have a bad killswitch and I believe bad starter button. I also have no ignition cylinder. I have twisted two wires together for the bike to be in the "on" postition and I have disconnected the black/white wire behind the speedo to get the bike to be in the "run" position. This will allow the bike to run. I am jumping the start but still it will run.

Can I temporarily install and momentary button as a start button? should I install a three way toggle in place of the killswitch? should I install another three way toggle in place of the ignition switch?

If I am on to something with the questions I've listed above would somebody be kind enough to explain the process simply? ex: connect X wire to one side of switch and X wire to other side

Thank you all in advance for all the help. I believe we are in the final stages of getting the scoot back on the road and this would not be without you guys.

Pat it is indeed running but only because I have rigged wiring and am jumping the starter. We are VERY close to being road ready though :ndance:

Alright so for any other newbs or people having issues here is how I fixed my problem. I took the red wire and the black wire from the four pin connector at the ignition switch and added a switch in between. I also disconnected the black/white wire from behind the speedo that goes to the killswitch. I believe what I have done essentially is made a hard killswitch for the entire bike. So rather than having to have the ignition on and the killswitch set to run I simply have an on/off toggle. Also there is no issue with the starter button. I forgot to pull the brake when pushing it.. Whoops!

Thanks again for all the help. We're almost there!
