any ideas for mods on an 88 SB50 Elite SE?

Does your Spree/Elite already run great, and you're trying to make it quicker/faster? Need a monster motor swap? Discuss your ideas here.

i've got a pod filter, but that's it so far. i removed the exhaust because someone told me there is a restrictor plate in the header pipe, but mine doesn't have one. any other ideas?

How about one of my pipes? It's a bolt-up for the SB50 as well as Spree.

Pulley mod, or head milling.

i just found em in the for sale section of the forum...i'll be buying one today most likely...how loud is it though? i know it'll be louder but i don't really want to sound like a dirtbike. i will most likely be commuting with this thing in the summer so it can't be too obnoxious

thanks for the info so far, noise!

i was reading about your exhaust, and i was actually hoping to get some low end power? i guess that's pretty much impossible without tuning the trans though..

i did add a pod filter that i haven't run it with yet. am i going to have to rejet the carb? i work at a dealership and i've been researching these keihin jets. i can't find anything other than one size smaller available from honda. i read an article about drilling out the jet but that sounds way sketchy to me.

EDIT: well i've read a lot of the info on this forum, and it looks like i should probably put the stock intake back on? i'm going to put it all together tonight with the pod filter on and see how it runs...i'll let you guys know how it works

Drilling jets is fine... it's just a hole. But you should be able to find OS jets.... they will not be a stock part though. Maybe talk to the guys in service dept rather than the parts dept.

You need to upjet to run a pod... I've had no luck with it, but many have. The fact you're running a SB50 should help.

PM me on the pipe if interested.

i work in the service dept, but we get all our jets from parts...i checked out k&l supply and a couple other catalogs and i couldn't find any jets that look like mine. the pilot is fixed so i'm screwed there, but the main is a strange cylinder shape with no head
