weaker springs

Why would you want to do that? You have less torque available at lower RPMs.

if anything you want more stall,so that the eng is already in the power band or getting there.

You want stiffer springs or to remove weight from the clutch shoes to increase RPM of engagement, this typically move the engagement farther up the powerband. Downside is that your clutch will wear faster.

I've played with springs only minimally, swapping through 2 stiffer sets of Leo Vince springs on a piped Spree to try to move up engagement RPM. Neither setup launched as well as stock, the stiffest set wouldn't engage at all. Almost like the pads were moving so fast that they weren't grabbing. All it generated was a lot of heat on the clutch bell.

I haven't tried removing weight from the pads, this is just something I've heard discussed relative to Honda Expresses.

If you want more speed, you need to increase the pulley ratio (shave the pulley) or port the jug and modify the pipe.
