Over the winter, I let my scooter sit in the garage with some fuel in the tank, and I did not add fuel stabilizer or anyhing so the carb would not gum up. It now seems to be gummed up, so I have been spraying Gumput Carb cleaner in the carb, and I have finally gotten it to do more than just turnover; it will occasionally start and idle, but when I give it gas, it dies.

Any suggestions as to what I can now try to get this puppy going?

If it means anything, the spark plug and battery are brand new.

Carb cleaner alone doesn't always work.
Carb must be disassembled and cleaned the right way.
There are numerous passages that are smaller than your eyelash that have to be clear.
I've done hundreds of these and have acquired technics known to only a few.

Whats your deal? just because someone else can rebuild carbs makes me a bad person? did you ever think its not always years, its technique, you may have a technique that works for you, but as far as im concerned, my way works perfectly without damaging the carb, your way does the same, but that by no stretch of the imagination makes me not know the "techniques"

Did you drain what gas was left and refill with new gas?
