Headlight died after unplugging rectifier
Hi, I have a 1986 spree, and while poking around I accidentally unplugged the rectifier. My headlight was working before I did this, and then as the battery was dying the headlight was getting dimmer until it eventually just shutoff. After charging the battery and plugging in the rectifier the headlight still won’t come back to life, but I know the high/low switch works, and the rectifier ohmed out fairly close to spec, is it possible running it with a dead battery burnt out both the high and low light at the same time? Thanks in advance!
Re: Headlight died after unplugging rectifier
You can remove the headlight and bench test it by putting 12v on the terminals. It has 3 prongs…ground, low beam, high beam.
I need to find some new haters...the ones I have are starting to like me.

Usually the headlight runs off the altenator and not the battery so you killed the voltage to the headlight when you undid the regulator.
