Oil delete plug fitment

Post by SwizMcDriz »

I just finished install a oil delete plug on my 89 elite e and it's protruding about 1/8 inch. Is this normal? Or do I have to remove some material off the bottom so it sits flush?

I am not sure if that plug is designed to fit your SB50 Elite but if you call Scooter Swap Shop and ask them about it, they can help or direct you to an answer. Come back and let us know so we have the new info! Thanks Swiz! and Welcome to the forum!

I gave sss a call and it's normal for the plug to sit a bit high. As long as it seats in it should be good.

:2thumbs: You will need to secure it so it don't come flying out when you blast the throttle! I made a metal tab to bolt down across the top of it and secured it to the nearest bolt. If it leaks, that won't be good either.... :imo:
