Honda Spree crankshaft bearing

Greetings everyone! Been a while since I've logged on. I've run into a Spree crankshaft bearing issue. For years I've had to order the drive side crankshaft bearing through Honda. The bearing was a 20x47x12mm. Now dealers and web sites have that bearing as a generic 6204. A 6204 bearing measures 20x47x14. Too wide. I tried one of those a few years ago and the crankcase halves would NOT come together (2mm gap). The drive side bearing seat is 11mm deep and gap between bearing and crank flywheel is about 1mm. Anybody know where to get proper bearing. Honda dealer wants $40 for the same bearing a local bearing shop charges $6 (6204). I hate to try installing something that I know won't work and then not being able to return it. Has anyone had this issue? Local bearing shop is looking for the correct size.

There's no reason to pay for the Honda P/N bearing if the bearing shop can find the correct size replacement.
Appears there's a 12mm variant under bearing number 6204-W12

Thanks for the reply. I've been to 2 bearing shops, and 6204-W12 will come up on there screen...but they are unavailable. In the past I've ordered Honda part # 91001-GM4-033 and got a 12mm wide bearing. Now that part number shows a 14mm wide bearing. Hopefully I can find one or two before I pull out the little hair I have left.

You may need to order from an online bearing shop. I can find them, but you're right, it's not a common item. Too bad Honda's got the parts screwed up in their system as well now...
