Any way to put a variator on a spree???

Does anybody know if you could take a variator off a different scooter and fab it up to work on a spree? I'm always trying to thinks of ways to make this thing faster. :D

um....................no. well, at least I never herd of anyone doing it. kick the spree engine, and get a elite50 engine. :wink:

sprees weren't meant to go fast in the first place. If you want to make it go faster start with a better chassis.

I've heard that the Express variator may be small enough to fit, but I've never checked.

Didnt the Pal/DJ1 one come with an AF05 (Spree Engine) that had a variator... seems like a straight swap would be easier than this mod

If you didn't do the mod don't post it :x i know i can make any honda express smoke a spree but it will cost ya :lol:

Really? I think that if I say "I've heard that someone tried this" and explain that I haven't, they can do their own research and figure it out for themselves. Which is better than some people who come onto the board, talking about how great every * thing they build is, but won't share details.

For example, if you think a 19mm carb is required for some bore size, say "I think you should run a 19mm Dellorto with size XX jet" rather than "You're a * stupid b****... my stuff all is faster than yours!" The latter is just irritating and communicates nothing.

but back to the main topic. what type of mopeds have a variator?

Not sure... follow the links to the Express online service manuals in tech docs and start reading.
