drilling hole in muffler...

so where does one drill? on the end closer to the exhaust pipe? or the other end. and when end is determined does it matter where the hole is placed or just on that side of the baffle. and can this be coupled with drilling out the baffles? and if not which is better for speed/power. if they can be done in conjunction is the hole placement changed?
thanks.

ok heres how to drill out a muffler first get a drill bit as long as the muffler itself (DONT count the downtube! you will never find ine that long) and as big as you can fit in the little hole in the back where the exaust comes out then put the drill bit in the hole in back where the exaust comes out and drill you will run int plates inside the muffler theese are the baffles drill right through them untill you drilled every one just be careful not to drill through the muffler body itself
this is a quote from 'Kenny_McCormic'. like i said
here i dont think you should drill though them all, for a 2-stoke to run right it has to have back compression and if its that open you might loose some. i would go though most but not all
also there is a topic
here that might help you out some.

i understand the drilling of the baffles, im interested in the drilling of a hole in the body of the muffler: where on muffler more specifically.

Why would you want that?

idk... added power/speed.. i read several posts describing multiple quarter to half inch holes in muffler body.. but no specifics. possibly at the end around the exhaust..

drilling the baffles does the same thing but a bit quieter

once you dril the holes in the muffler is there anything you can do to quiet it back down to stock? I really want to drill my muffler but I dont want my spree to be really loud and annoying when I drive.

yeah its called buying a new pipe.
i drilled mine. its cool sounding and impresses every one i show but its just to loud. at a dead stop trying to talk to some one 3 feet from me is imposable. i ended up turning my idle down all the way so it would die when i idled. when i rode in a group, when we stopped i could hear what they were saying. but then my starter didnt want to work so i had to kick start it every time.
its cool but yeah it adds alot of noise

does it get ridiculously loud once you drill the baffles out or is it tolerable to ride on?

i got a full helmet so its muffled, plus i only drilled 2 baffles. it aint to bad. the sound it self is so much better i would tell every one to do it. but it does add sound.

there would be no chance of getting pulled over or something like that for noise?

i dont think so. i never got pulled over for being to loud and i got a drilled pipe + 63cc bore kit. mines way louder then your will be.
it all depends on the cop. there is a extreamly low chance of them pulling you over for that. however i have been pulled over for stupid stuff before. ( ie; they wanted to see my helmet, they didn't think i had my moped license because i looked short.)
