Airbox cover and filter flew off, now bogs under throttle

The airbox cover and air filter flew off after hitting a hard bump in the road, now I can only go about 15 mph and if I give it any throttle the engine bogs down. Any ideas on how to fix this without getting another airbox cover and filter?

You need some sort of filter on the carb. Get a UNI, or make one out of a small paper filter, something. Then you are going to have to adjust the carb or maybe evn re-jet depending on your air filter solution. Good luck, Ed

DONT RUN IT ANYMORE! IT WILL BURN UP LIKE THAT!
get a new filter before you even think of starting it again

UNI is a brand, they make air filters that will fit mopeds. UNI pod is a foam filter thats about 15$. although quick easy fix i wouldnt sugest it to you. running a UNI pod with out up-jetting can burn out your motor.

to make it run the best, you would need to find a new airbox. Right now its running lean, that means easier to seize. Using any other after market air cleaner would be a pain because of the different air flow you get. It would be tuned like from the factory. Unless you have a after market set up.

You will just have to break down and get the original setup on there again. E-bay might be your best bet . Just wondering why you did not stop and retrieve the original one when it blew off?
