Honda Spree and Elite 50 Forums

I have a 1985 spree and I am looking to do an engine swap. what engine works the best and are there certin engines that will not work? are the elite and aero engines the same? what years can I use? and what year or type if any has the most power/speed. also where is the best place to buy a engine? and what should I look for when buying one. thanks for your help!

Pick up an '88 to '91 Elite 50. Clean swap, I've heard, but no details. MRFIXIT did this swap. Aero 50 would be next choice, but not much better. Aero 80 might fit. All three get you a variator, which the Spree doesn't have.

Yea, my aprilia has a variator... Its well worth it.
