So I'm on my way back to work from lunch today. It had started raining, very lightly. I needed to make a right turn from the road I was on to the road where my office is. I moved into the left part of the turn lane, braked, leaned into the turn, and right at the apex...the rear wheel slid out to the left, and down I went (this is after my wife cleaned and dressed it):
I didn't mean to ruffle your feathers, I just figured if you posted those pictures its fair game. Anyway I do the same thing, i have a messed up equation of distance/time of day that I use to determine if I wear a helmet or not. I can be seen quite a bit without one. Anyway I am glad you didn't get too messed up. I got hit by a pickup truck in May and I still can't walk right (shattered femur, broken wrist and elbow). I digress, be safe, may the scooter gods shine on you favorably. e
It's all good dude, you didn't ruffle my feathers. I was being a dumb *. I figure it was due to a combination of these:
1. It had just started raining (lightly)
2. My tires suck. Bad.
3. Not wearing a full face helmet
The thing is, I know better. I'm from Florida, and I've ridden motorcycles quite a bit in rain, including tropical storms. I know that the road is the most slippery right after it starts raining. I know that bad tires when it's dry only get worse when they are wet. I know that the best way to not get hurt badly on these things is to wear a full face helmet.

That's why it's gotta be ATGATT in my house....even on the little scooter. (I say then and then I look over at my avatar.....and realize I am SUCH AN IDIOT!)
