question for all you bore kit users

The place to discuss rides, accessories, or whatever is tangentially Spree/Elite-related

question for all you bore kit users

Post by Kenny_McCormic »

Do you guys go to the trouble of registering it as a motorcycle and getting cycle endorsement or do you just lie about your engines displacement to keep it a moped?
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

my 92 elite with a 64cc bore kit has a moped sticker. how ever if i ever were to get a 72cc corsta kit for my dio motor i might get it marked as a motor cycle so i could take it on the high way.
i know a person who had a 150cc tank ( moped ) and he had a moped sticker. cops never said anything to him, he took it on the freeway a few times.

it mainly comes down to were you going to ride it. if you want to take it on the free way i would get it registered as a motorcycle. but if your going to stay off roads like that a moped sticker is all your going to need. i have passed cops many times going 43 mph or so when Michigan moped laws state a moped cant go over 30 mph. cops really dont care as long as your not hitting 70mph or something like that.

No-way, thats the whole beauty of 50cc scooters in CO. Not too mention the cylinders that come with the bore kits still have the 49cc cast into them!!!

All my 70cc+ bikes are still *ehem* 50cc on title so thats what you tell the dmv ;), although my elite and italjet are both registered as motorcycles on the plates.
