I rode it around the corner to the store. Stopped and started again to get home. It had been working normally before this and a couple of hours later it won't start. Plenty of compression with finger over hole. I put in a new sparkplug and put in a capful of gas and it started for a split second burning off the fuel and then dieing. Air filter is fine. It has fuel flowing from the bowl to the carburator, the bystarter doesn't work to start it when removed as i've heard it might to check for a faulty one. The strangest thing is that it makes the same starting noice when the sparkplug cap is off as when it is on. It sounds like it wants to turnover, but it just can't, so I'm thinking fuel, but the sparkplug cap thing is throwing me off. Thanx for your help.

This is my only mode of transportation, so I would greatly appreciate any help that anyone could give me. I paid 300 for the bike and I want to avoid paying that much to bring it to the shop. Thanx in advance

I would start with the same old response. Take apart your carburetor and clean every piece of it inside and out. If it runs when you put gas in the cylinder and then dies when that gas is burned up it obviously is having a fuel flow problem.

As said before clean your carb.

I am in the process of cleaning the carburetor, valve spring, fuel lines, the auto fuel valve and I have run into a couple of speed bumps. First, where is the strainer? It doesn't appear to be in the fuel valve. Is it part of the assembly where the fuel valve screws on? Should it drop out or something? Second, the valve spring bends a bit and seems tight. Is this normal? Thanx guys

OK...carburetor is cleaned and rebuilt, valve assembly and fuel lines are clean, but the auto fuel valve has what seems to be a clog in the lower stem. Is there a screen or something in there? I'm afraid to poke something in there as I have already soked it with the carburetor, sprayed jets of air through it and it is still clogged. A little air goes through and moves something in there, but it is obstructed. Also, for the valve spring assembly, does the spring go all the way down and seat on top of the retainer or is there supposed to be a small gap. The spring won't go all the way down because it gets stuck between the throttle cable and the throttle valve. Should I pull or push it down to seat it against the retainer? Sorry for all the questions, I've done as much as I can do on my own. Thanx

To see if the fuel valve is working remove the fuel line from the carb and crank over the ngine gas should come squirting out of the line.

Gas is not coing out of the line now, but it did when I first took it off. How long should I crank it over for in order to get the gas to flow through it? I will be trying to get a video of the bike and the sound it makes.

I dumped gas in where the sparkplug goes and she started up breifly before revving to a max and dying becuz I screwed up the throttle valve assembly. It's crunching and sticking. That can be done later I suppose. But I guess the problem is no fuel. The fuel is not coming out of the line at all, but like I said, there was fuel in it before I pulled the line. I'm pretty close to setting the thing on fire on purpose.

dude, unless you battery is super charged you have no compression. your rings right be fried.

these are easy to work on. taking to a shop there going to charge you a ton even to just look at it.

It sounds like you will need a new vacuume valve. It also sounds like the more you screw with it the more it gets screwed up. If you do not have the patience for it maybe its better that it does go to a mechanic.
