gain top end speed on 1994 honda elite

I have a 1994 honda elite. I already took of the restricter on the variater, and bored out the exhaust pipe. I bought it this last summer with 590 miles on it and at the end of summer there was about 2250 miles on. Put quite a few miles on as you can see and I have lost some top end speed. I was wondering what I should do to gain that back and what should be done as a tune up for just general matainence.

Also, what can I get to gain more top end speed without a bore kit and wont be to hard on the engine, A high speed pully kit, maybe?

New to all of this so be easy on me.

Thanks for all your help

Well, if you had top end and now you don't have it anymore, obviously something has worn or clogged. I'd clean the carb, and think about putting on new rings if compression is low. Assuming compression is low, I'd take the time to really clean out the head and the ports on the jug as well as the entire piston. That should get you back to the days of yore. If that still ain't good enough, then I'd look at mods.

Heck, how about just replacing the spark plug and checking the exhaust port for carbon as a start? With nearly 2000 miles on, the service interval get closer together in time.

With regular riding and clean fuel, your carb's probably fine.

Check your compression if you want as a best practice, but that affects bottom end as well and I'm betting you're within where you need to be.

So are you looking to upgrade your bike and make it really fast?
Or just restore the stock speed you had before?

If you are looking to restore some of your old speed, test the compression . (you use a compression gage that screws in were your spark plug normally is, Kick it a few times or hit the electric start for a few seconds.
If it seems low there is a good chance its time to replace the rings. The ring wear out over time(about 2000 miles or so) and that will leave your compression lower.

How much speed did you loose?
(like how fast was it Vs. how fast it is now)

I would say that it went about 40 mph and now does like 35 or so.

I am looking to restore it back and also what else i can do to gain top end speed without a bore kit.

thanks

Clean your muffler, its probably clogged up especially if you arent using honda oil.

you forgot to do a few things and if you don't do them at the same time your engine will lose power, re-jet the carb, open up the air filter, and a 9 to1 gear change

Why would he rejet his carb. if his bike is 100% stock?
Why would he open up his air filter so dust and dirt gets into the cylinder?
Why would he change his gears if he is not looking to upgrade?

Why do you come on this site, and tell every one * like this?

[HondaElite5094, dont mind this guy. He comes on here once and a while and talks trash. He claims he super smart and his bike is super fast, yet he wont even list off the parts he has. Just dont even read his posts.}

I dont think you will need anything for a 65cc, Dac is the one to talk to for this sort of thing.
