Still Smoking

Post by Spyk »

I changed the oil got it running good and just did a plug chop. The plug looks a good golden brown color like i am assuming it should but i still have quite a bit of smoke at high rpm's after a short distance. Any ideas?

Also thanks for all your help.

You said you changed the oil but what kind of oil did you put back in?

Genuine Honda 2-stroke injector oil.

do you think there is a chance that the oil may not have drained from the tank to the injector? i did change it about a week or so ago but haven't ran it much since...just a thought

Drive it for a while at high speed, probably s*** left behind by the old (im assuming it was crappy premix) burning off.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

It will take a while to burn through the old oil. You'll need to dump the oil in tank and lines to get it all out, then refill with new oil and purge the air out per the Honda manual.

This i know, cause mine smoked like a bug spray for like a half a mile, almost couldnt see me. Remember, the injection only drips every 5-10 secs so it takes a while to burn off.
