was running fine full speed then started sputtering and ran badly all the way home barely went over 10 mph. i checked the fuel and it was bone dry but was idling fine when i shut it off. refilled gas and now can't start it for the life of me. any ideas? its a 89 spree.

no such thing as a 89 spree dude. pull the air cleaner off and smother the carb to choke it.

When you run the carb on these bikes dry, its a b**** to get them to reprime, plus the bystarter will only work with a full bowl. So put you hand over the intake holes on the airbox to start it after its been ran dry.

Now WAY!

I saw that scoot on craigslist and thought about emailing her that it was an elite and that there were no '89 sprees!

Talk about a small world, eh?
