45 on flat ground? It would probably fly apart. I can imagine the knee guards wrapping around, the front fender flared like the ground effects on my bimmer and your lips peeled back into a look of extreme terror. And that's BEFORE the front tire blows........

I've had mine up to about 40, But on a hill, it seemed to be ok. But the weird thing is I have to apply the gas to go down hill when the engine runs otherwise I start to slow down, Is this normal?

yep perfectly normal, theres no "neutral" on this bike, so you cant freewheel down, your belt HAS to go as as fast as the tire (porportional). If you dont have the gas on all the way, the belt slows down, therefore slowing your tires, and your speed in general.

How many miles am I supposed to get per gallon on the Spree? It looks like I'll be lucky to get 40 mph. Is there any way to make the Spree faster besides for me to lose weight

mine will do over 40 down hills, not sure how fast since it's off the scale.
