Honda Spree and Elite 50 Forums

After cleaning the carb several times and eventually breaking the pilot tube when trying to remove it, I broke down and bought a BRAND FREAKIN NEW one! Interestingly enough hondapartsdirect.com said it wasn't available and servicehonda.com wouldn't answer my emails. Got this one from discounthondaparts.com for $125.79 plus shipping and it included a NEW BYSTARTER! Here's a pic to prove it's real.

HOLY s***!!! I have never seem one so clean, mine is a sort of yellow color and covered in a mix of oil and dust.

Wow. I started to clean mine up, but I thought that it was supposed to be yellowish

Not if you consider it lists for $173.50.

If you consider its a "stock carb" is what I meant lol..

You can find aftermarket 21-28mm OKO carbs for $80-100, 19mm Arreche's for $90-120, 17.5mm and smaller for about the same.

do the after market carbs come with bystarters or do they utilize the stock by starter?

19mm and smaller come with one, bigger carbs have manual choke.

Looks like I will need to by one of those . I am so sick and tired of trying to get my spree to start when its cold. I bought my Spree without a bystarter. What was your results? Did you have to make any adjustments or was it plug and play?

What I meant was "the stock one". The cheaper aftermarket ones may be good but its kinda scary intrusting something other than stock if I don't know anything about it. Does anyone have any info on the other choices? Maybe a website?

Darn money burnt a hole in my pocket. Couldn't handle it. New stock carb is on the way...

An AM carb on a spree probably wont run too good. It runs like s*** because its got a big leak due to a missing by starter(unless somebody packed the hole with epoxy). Fuel system on a spree is best left alone.

The new carb showed up today. It looked exactly like yours, Honda box and all. The only thing I had to modify was the wire connection for the bystarter. I hooked it up completly dry and new. Whats amazing is it started right away as if it had fuel in the carb already. No adjustment needed. My little spree runs just like a new one now!!! The only thing left is waiting for the Kenda tires to arrive and trying to figure out why the oil light comes on even though the oil tank is full.
