Honda Spree and Elite 50 Forums

I am looking at buying a Honda Spree 1985 and I have a question. I know that they are two stroke, and I was wanting to ask you experts here how they smell when running. I have had older 2 stroke dirt bikes that stink so bad when they run, and I was wondering if the Spree is plagued with the same foul smelling odor. My wife has sever Asthma and I will not be allowed to keep it if it smells like a normal two stroke.

yes, they are 2 stroke.
as for the smell i never really noticed it before, but then again im working on them all the time. As long as you use good honda brand 2 stroke injector oil it should not smell that bad.

But i recommend starting one up before you buy it and decide yourself.

thanks, also how available are parts for these? Are New old stock regularly available or am i stuck with used parts off Ebay?

Any 2 stroke that stinks/smokes bad is running crap oil or out of tune, probably both. Most parts are still available excluding plastics.

allot is available still from honda.... and there is a oil its bel ray Si 7 that has almost no smell
