Has anyone put the straight forks on an Elite? (is that the correct term, "straight forks") I'm trying to put dio forks and disc brake on my 98 elite.

If anyone has, do you have picture on the build? Which donor bikes are the best for this conversion? Has Anyone did the Dio Forks with the disc brakes? Any suggestions or tips on how I should go about my conversion?

ForumsHawaii.net - Moped/Scooter

I hate the site. I hate just about everyone on there. Allot of trash talkers and what not. But just about every elite on that site has a disk brake conversion. So im sure you will get some more help from that site.

But expect people being an *. And if bad grammar and miss spelled words bug you avoid that site.

Best luck with doing this, get allot of pictures so you can come back to the site and report to us how to do so. :)

Very Nice! How did you do the conversion? Welding? Any tips on how I should go about doing the same?

For the conversion you have to get the whole frontend from the Honda Dio. You need the fork stem the forks, handle bar and headset, You'll have to do some cutting and welding, you have to shorten tube about 3 inches cause the dio stem is shorter the the stock one. other than that its pretty much straight forward.

Unless you run a full stroker above 98cc its not needed.

Well... I was just thinking about cutting and not using the top handle bars or headset and do more of a street fighter conversion, if that makes any sense.

Cut the Stem and put a BMX head on it and use handle bars like the ruckus. And don't you mean cutting the stem 3inch shorter because the dio stem is longer? Not shorter?

Do I have to do anything to the frame which holds the stem?

I'm got 85cc bore kit with 28mm carb. 135jet and a 55pilot. Blue center spring with yellow clutch springs. High speed Var wit 7g and 8g mix. I have 7.5 to 1 gears ready to go in....just haven't had the time. It wheelie hard on the stock center spring, but I wanted to top end. Soon I will get my roller weight kit to mess around.

I run 50/150 on a 28mm oko on my 76cc mini, and the parts i run don't get changed everday= after 22 yrs. of building i know how to build speed.

I think I found as much top end as I can with what I have now. Until I can get the gears in, Im doing 54mph. (GPS) I'm in colorado, so the high attitude is probably holding my scoot back a little bit.

I know this isn't aimed toward me but, the needle is adjusted by trail and error. Each giving a different tunning option. It's adjust and ride adjust and ride.

well you do what i do but its always interesting to see what others run for setup on the carb and how it differs from location to location with the weather and elavation differance! i like to compare and its also preferance or how we ride or type of riding

Well Funny story with mine. At first I had my needle all the way to the top of the needle when I first was tunning. I could bury the needle into the gauge. I went on a scooter ride then had the spark plug pop out! Well I had to get new cap and did some other stuff which let me to tunning again. Ever since then I could not get the needle top bury itself again!

Right now I have two notches down from the top. I'm doing solid 50mph, solid 45 going up hill. I ride in Denver, Colorado. MILE HIGH! So our Oxygen is very thin here. With the set up I have and the way it is tuned....I don't have any dead spots. 0-45mph is a straight full pull. No bog or anything. Plug looks great too!
