what to use/cover up to clean engine?

Hey guys just wondering what everyone uses and what needs to be covered up when you clean an engine off on these little things. what can/cant get wet etc.?? I know what to cover up on a car but not so much on a little scooter

Plug intake and exhaust, spray it down, run it so it warms up and dries off to prevent corrosion.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.
