Will this new aftermarket bystarter fit my scooter?
I have a 1994 SA50SR - will the SA50 bystarter listed here not work on my scooter? Do they actually have different carbs or what is the deal?
They are actually offering 2 kinds selling - this one works on up to a 2000 SA50

and this one up to a 1993

Probably a clogged idle jet, a properly running engine WILL NOT run right with an unplugged bystarter. anything SA50 will fit an SR, the stuff afterwor ds designates trans restriction and exhaust pipe.justinnielsen01 wrote:yeah it wouldnt run with it plugged in. i un plugged it. it runs great starts first touch of the starter.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.
thats kinda what I thought they would have to have differnent carbs or something for them not to be interchangable.Kenny_McCormic wrote:Probably a clogged idle jet, a properly running engine WILL NOT run right with an unplugged bystarter. anything SA50 will fit an SR, the stuff afterwor ds designates trans restriction and exhaust pipe.justinnielsen01 wrote:yeah it wouldnt run with it plugged in. i un plugged it. it runs great starts first touch of the starter.
The seller said it wouldn't fit - maybe he just doesn't know.

Heck, how about a whole new carb for $60 with shipping included?

Or a new petcock?

I actually saw that and was considering it. Do you think that thing is reasonable quality?noiseguy wrote:Heck, how about a whole new carb for $60 with shipping included?

First I'm gonna buy a battery from wal-mart and do the bystarter function test - if it is not working right I might just try the new bystarter and not an entire new carb.

Would one of these carbs fit a 1986 NQ50? I am tired of messing around with mine. I have cleaned and cleaned and adjusted and adjusted till I am blue in the face. The only way I can get it to run is to tape off one of the 2 intake holes on the air cleaner. Thanks Jimnoiseguy wrote:Heck, how about a whole new carb for $60 with shipping included?

Is the idle jet clear(should flow pin * of light)? Is the main jet nice n clean? Is the brass guy hiding under the main jet clean(push it out with a pencil thorough the throttle hole)?jxnslotcar wrote: Would one of these carbs fit a 1986 NQ50? Beats me... I plan on opening it up before installing it to check it out. I have an '88 Elite with a botched up carb that I plan to replace with this one.Elite-ist wrote: I actually saw that and was considering it. Do you think that thing is reasonable quality?
