I have an 86 spree...ive had it for several years now and it has ran like a top...32 mph to be exact. everything was great until a couple weeks ago and it just lost all power all of a sudden....i can put it wide open and it wont even move, it sounds like its missing but ive changed plug a couple times and i thought maybe i fried the belt so i changed that too....nothing makes a difference...cleaned out the gas tank, cleaned the carb 2 times...and nothing makes a difference

....i can build a big block chrysler that runs 10.60 in a 3600 boat but i cant fix a scooter....very annoying....any ideas?

Ive said it before and I will say it again. The first thing to check before you start ripping the engine apart is for a plugged muffler. Put your hand by the tip of the muffler when its running and feel for exhaust.
This happened to me about a year ago. It was running great and all of a sudden hardly any power.

Check your ports/head/exhaust for carbon.
Check compression.
Then check your clutch, on the back of the scoot. Might be shot.
