What's the best way to remove the oil sensor? It's not threaded is it? In the PDF it looks like it should pull out, tried to, but it's quite tight so didn't want to force it and break it if there's some trick.....

Use a large adjustable pliers/channel lock and turn while pulling it out...It is just a rubber stopper/friction holding it in.
