84 Spree Engine floods, lost power at low speeds

Post by madeline17 »

My Spree has started having problems with the engine flooding when I first start it, and then after it warms up to normal temperature, the acceleration is completely shot. It is fine after it gets up past 15 or so, but before that I can barely pull away from a stop sign.
The manifold gasket is leaking oil; could that be the problem? What else should I look at?

Do a plug chop, I bet you are lean, any leak between the base gasket and the airfilter will make it lean out.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

What do I have to change to make it run richer?

Find whats making it run lean, usually a clogged carb.
