Look at her go fellas!! Yaaaahhooooo!

Well - my basement is thick with black smoke now, but small price to pay to see the old gal run!
Again, can't thank you guys enough (Jeremy and Vette esp.) Thanks so much for all your help, suggestions/instructions, and putting up with my dumb questions  .

I guess I'll take the oil line off while she's running just to make sure there's oil flowing, other than that I think I'm good to go.

Anything else I should double check so I don't ruin her since she hasn't run for three years?

All there's left to do now is customize.

I guess I got off pretty lucky as far as the rebuild goes......

Parts:
New Battery
New Brake Cable
Fresh Gas
Fresh Oil
New Plug
New Keys and locking mechanism
Some patience

oil will flow anyway. even if it is off. that wont tell u anything. if it filled the basement with smoke more then likely it is getting oil. u would be able to smell it also.

Great to hear it! Good luck with it. I would check the oil pump. Noiseguy pointed that out to me, and if I hadn't checked it, I would have burnt the engine big time. Like he said one drip or so every 5-10 seconds.

So what did you do to get it up and running? Do you know what was clogged?

Happy customizing!

good job on getting it going! its great to see your work pay off with the sound of these 50cc monsters. :D

definately lucky with the rebuild, my initial attempt ended up costing about $300: tires, top-end rebuild (piston, rings, etc...); key ignition, air filter, fuel filter, fuel petcock, battery +misc. ur real lucky, have fun and happy scooting! 8)
projects galore :nerd:

I think it was a combination of things. Soaked the bowl again overnight to make sure that little hole to the bystarter was clear along with all other ports. And, I connected the gas line, and made sure to put some suction on the vacum line so that there was enough gas in the bowl before starting.

I think I was trying to start it without letting enough gas fill the bowl, then giving up and tearing the carb apart over and over again.
