Tranny oil change - How?

New guy here. 94' SA50 (Elite SR). $100.00, 1700 miles, black with (ugh) purple rims. Runs perfect.

I've been riding for over 30 years, just not on scooters.

So my question - How do you change/drain the oil from the tranny? I've looked the scoot over and can't find a drain bolt anywhere.

Do you just warm up the scoot, pop out the filler bolt, and then lay it on it's side? Seems silly to me. No mention of anything in the Honda manuals (service/owners) about changing this oil. They just say "check it now and then."

Any help appreciated - More questions to come - Scootah!

p.s. I did a search - No luck.

Thats how its done on a spree yes. Tilt it as far as it will go and drain it out.
Use a squirt type oil can to refill. Squirt oil in until it begins to run out of the bolt hole when the bike is upright. Thats it.

Thank you Hondaman. Still seems silly. How much more would it have cost to add a drain bolt?? Doh!!

Drill the bottom of the case, bake the oil out(thiswill require FULL disassembly of the engine), find a welder with enough experience to weld cast aluminum, weld in a short tube.

Pretty funny! Sooooooo much easier if it would have been cast with a drain hole at the factory.
