Need help with pullys

Post by e_kmiec23 »

Hey I am trying to get into the crankcase on a Spree. I do not have a air gun just basic hand tools and a pully puller. How can I get the bolts off so I can open this thing up to see what the damage is? Thanks for any help guys! :D

Airgun isnt needed, although helpful at times... To get into the case remove all the 8mm bolts. If it has never been opened before (which I doubt is the case) you may have to tap it a bit to get it loose.

Once open you can use a screwdriver to wedge the front pulley while removing the front nut (14mm?). I use a belt wrench to remove the back pulley, although you can buy or make a 2 pin adjustable wrench to hold the rear clutch while removing the rear nut.

Goodluck.

You could use a strap wrench to hold it.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.

Thank you..it worked the first time with the rubber wrench. Also does it look like I need to replace the clutch or just the 3 little arms. Sorry about the picture...its off a camera phone.[img][/img]

Those pads look pretty thin to me, I would replace.

A honda motorcycle/dirtbike dealer can probably get the pads.
