Clutch Springs
I was just wondering if i can counteract the slower acceleration of higher gears by putting stronger clutch springs in on my elite, what size/color of springs should i put on (i now have stock springs)

i haven't dealt with clutch springs at all yet, but i don't think its gonna be exactly what you want
(i think) all its gonna do is make the initial jolt harder, when the clutch grabs. Making you wheelie, but after that it should be the same
and ive heard don't get too stiff on springs, otherwise you will wheelie whether you want to or not. but what size is too big, i couldn't tell you

assuming you have the highspeed pull and the gears from vt it comes with 9g rollers. they work the best.gobucks wrote:okay, do you have any roller weight suggestions if i have the 9:1 gears ?

Re: Clutch Springs
Stay with stock spring, stiff spring has no take off what so ever, but very good top on top speed (with gears).gobucks wrote:I was just wondering if i can counteract the slower acceleration of higher gears by putting stronger clutch springs in on my elite, what size/color of springs should i put on (i now have stock springs)
i just put in some clutch springs on my bike today and i want to take them out.
they pick up way to d*** late, there no off the line jump at all, the motor revs up, the clutch kicks in, the motor grunts to move the bike.
stock springs pick up right away, much better.
