Sorry to post this here guys...

My jog starts up with quick-start, but only runs for a few seconds. It seems like its not getting fuel.

The vacuum and fuel lines seem fine. Any other ideas?

Keep in mind, I am brand new to scooters.

Help me out.

Probably a clogged carb, as my spree did the same thing.

The guy I bought it from just cleaned the carb.

Also, it's starting even without quick start now, but it only runs for a few seconds and dies.

Does it still sound like a clogged carb?

make sure nothing missing are inside a carb only, clogged jets, all holes passage. must go through..

just disconnect a fuel hose from a carb, kickstart few times . see fuel flow out. then is good.

So, I disconnected the fuel line from the carb. When I kicked it, the fuel pumped out of the line each time I kicked.

That's a good thing, right?

So, now what? If anyone has a Jog, and knows a lot about this, shoot me your number if you're up for a phone chat.

So, after I checked that, I started it, and it idled for a bit until I gave it some throttle, and it died.

After that, it would start, but would only idle for a second or two before it died, even without throttle.

I replaced the spark plug. Nothing yet.

My battery is dead...do you think that might affect the auto-choke?

I just talked to the guy who sold it to me. He's been building and rebuilding carbs for years. He suggested maybe the float pin is bad.

Anyway, he said he cleaned the carb and cleaned it *well*. He suggested maybe taking the carb off and checking where the carb goes into the engine.

Any thoughts?

I would guess ether.

I would also guess it is not a good idea on 2-strokes. (no oil in it)

Quick-start= starting fluid, never thought of that.

I hear starting fluid has nasty tendencies to blow up reed cages.

it will eat plastic

i would never put a lot of it in my motor.

when working on my custom speedometer i realized that trace amounts of carb cleaner will take the letters and old pattern right off, then i learned allot of it will eat right through the plastic.
and starter fluid is just as bad i guess.
