How much do You pay for a new battery?

It's time for me to drag the ol' Nifty out of the shed again for the summer. I paid my registration, and I had to buy a new battery. Man I'm never going to go to that place again. They stung (Stung IS the operative word) me $59.99 for a new battery! It must be the smallest 12V battery that they make, and it cost that much. Plus I had to charge it myself! I reckon that's *! And it was a place that only sells batteries too.
How much do you pay for your scoot batteries?

thats pretty close. i seen them here for about $50. summer?! is it summer over there? last i seen, we had snow coming down over this way.

Yeah, we've been having some really hot days lately. Saturday was like 31'C.
At least I'm not only one getting ripped off lol.

At the local tractor supply store, my elite battery was only 20 dollars.

Then again it depends on whether you buy a cheap battery with a vent system or a sealed battery which cleaner but alway cost about $20 to $25 bucks more. I go cheap because the batteries tend to die over the winter anyway.

it sucks. I'll make the $60 back in two weeks from my fuel savings, but I still hate parting with my hard earned $$$$.

Take em out and put them in the house.I parked my entire spree in the basement one year.

Not true anymore. An engineer from Interstate Battery said with the advent of plasitc cases the problem disappeared.

I have seen plastic batteries freeze and split, given this was from sitting in the elements for 5 years but it still happens. I did have a $20 die hard from sears that went for years sitting in the bike for the winter in an unheated shed.

First off I live on the ocean and it doesn't get that cold here. But I've done the Alaska thing and never had a battery freeze.

They dont freeze anywhere in the lower 48 and alaska for them most part(cant remember exact temps) if they have a full charge, dead batteries will freeze above 0.

Maybe I'm weird, but I tend to get rid of dead batteries. They are useless other than for a core.
