Hey guys and or gals I'm still working on 86 spree that starts good but wont' idle ..plus gas is coming into the vac tube between carb and fuel valve...I took someones advice and removed the choke and put my finger over the opening and the motor would idle down but still had gas in vac. tube...so I'm guessing that my bystarter is no good but what is causing the gas to be in vac tube.

Broken diaphram on the fuel valve. Get a used one and or new. The fuel is getting past the diapram and getting sucked into the intake down the vacuum.

Bystarter has nothing to do with the vacuum line to open the fuel valve.

Check the valve operation per the manual to determine if it's really bad. If it is, write Paul back and tell him what's going on. Paul has been an honest dealer in the past, and I'm sure he'll make it right.

Do you have the tubes hooked up right? Or are you sure you know what the vacuum tube is? There is no way gas can get into the vacuum tube if the fuel valve is working properly.
