I have a strange Spree. When I fire it up after sitting overnight, it idles but dies if I twist on the throttle. After about five minutes of idling (if I don't mess with the throttle), it dies on its own. If I take the spark plug out, it is oil fouled. After I clean it off and replace it, the Spree will start and run fine all day. Why oh why is my Spree misbehaving???

By Starter issue, you are running rich and killing the spree on throttle because of that search and ye shall find.
