Vento r3 zip, good scooter or cheap china pos?

Post by steffen707 »

So I read up on these a bit, there's one for sale locally for 800 bucks, its an 03, has remote start, alarm, disc brakes, 2 stroke. Read they have 4.9hp stock.

Sounds like not a bad little scooter. Saw that toast I believe had one. Wondering what others have experienced and think.

I believe they are good scoots. I'm sure Burnt will chime in.

vespa piaggio? *, those almost as bad as chinese junk.. haha jk, just not a big fan of italian bikes, and parts can be quite a hassle for them too

I still have my Zip and love it, but its nowhere near stock. It's a 90cc stroker and very fast but has larger mexican cases and geared for near 70mph

HOWEVER, I DON'T recommend buying a 50cc Zip.. Decent stock performance but not great, the bottleneck is gearing! Upgears are very hard to find and even with 70cc kit you're still stuck at a limited 45mph

I've bought a second 50cc Zip before, kitted and carbed it, and talking from experiance, it was quite frustrating.

Better bike would be Vento Triton, like the one I'm selling in FS section or a true Yamaha Jog. The triton is larger and has better gearing stock, Jog is light and can find gears.

projects galore :nerd:

Thank you Toast, that's just what I needed to hear. The picture of that black JOG that some guy posted on the other thread looked SICK. Awesome tail section, sweet headlights, disc brakes? Guess i'll just SLOWLY and expensively upgrade parts on a jog........WAIT, i gotta buy a jog first

I'm gunna keep my elite and spree around as well and put the variator i just bought as well as some 9:1 gears in it so friends can ride along, but if the Jog is THAT MUCH better. Might as wells start with one of them.
